Transformational Readiness Modernization
We are leading BUMED’s efforts to modernize and transform its infrastructure and portfolio of programs in executing its readiness mission, which includes: (1) ensuring the medical readiness of service members; and (2) sustaining a ready medical force that is capable of providing exceptional care anytime, anywhere. Using our repeatable and scalable Agile program and project management methodologies, we rapidly responded to these emerging requirements by establishing new work streams, onboarding new staff, and partnering with client program managers to co‐create and implement solutions.

Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
VA Innovation Center (VIC) Data Analytics Support
We are currently helping the VIC within the Office of Enterprise Integration (OEI) establish a data lake and Power BI dashboard that will curate and integrate data from disparate sources that are internal and external to VA. These resources will be used to help address a wide range of questions pertaining to VA care and payment innovation initiatives enabled by the MISSION Act that are focused on reducing expenditures while preserving or enhancing the quality of care for Veterans. We are further providing data analytics support for the Center for Care and Payment Innovation within the VIC to help inform decisions about where to conduct a series of pilot studies across multiple programs that will be conducted to measure and evaluate the impacts of alternative care delivery and payment models on a spectrum of quality and cost measures.

Past Performances
We take pride in empowering our clients to continue great work, even after our contract period has ended.

U.S. Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED)
Future Readiness Care Model Program Management Office (PMO):
We provided BUMED with applied research support in conducting pilot studies for three major programs aimed at improving the health and readiness of the military beneficiary population: (1) Virtual Health; (2) Connected Corpsmen in the Community; and (3) Mental Health. In addition, we conducted several programmatic and ad‐hoc studies and analyses to: (1) address a wide range of questions or issues pertaining to these programs; (2) identify areas for improvement to these programs based on insights and lessons learned from pilot studies; and (3) provide evidence to support large‐scale implementation. Finally, we presented findings and reports to the Surgeon General of the Navy and helped develop evidence to support responses to U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) audits and Congressional inquiries.

Quality Governance and High Reliability Organization (HRO) Transformation
Veterans Health Administration (VHA):
In 2015, the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) identified the VHA healthcare system as a high‐risk program due to persistent weaknesses and risks to the timeliness, cost‐effectiveness, quality, and safety of the healthcare that VHA provides for Veterans. To help address these persistent weaknesses and areas of concern, VHA selected us to establish a healthcare quality governance infrastructure that would underpin an enterprise‐wide organizational transformation and performance improvement journey to become a high reliability organization (HRO) that continuously learns, innovates, and improves to achieve excellence in caring for Veterans. As part of this work, we partnered with VHA executives, administrative staff, and clinicians to identify, track, evaluate, and prioritize hundreds of risks and issues related to five domains of healthcare delivery and outcomes: (1) patient safety; (2) healthcare quality; (3) access to care; (4) patient and provider satisfaction; and (5) cost or efficiency. Our qualitative and quantitative analyses of data from disparate sources (e.g., electronic health records (EHRs), External Peer Review Program (EPRP) reports, and Strategic Analytics for Improvement and Learning (SAIL) reports) helped inform development, evaluation, and prioritization of a portfolio of alternative risk mitigation and performance improvement projects that aimed to improve healthcare delivery and outcomes for Veterans at each participating VHA facility.
